Dear LYC Member,

I am writing as President of the Board of Directors of the Leland Yacht Club Foundation to ask for your help and support. Our organization was founded in 2017 to Keep the Pure Joy of Sailing Alive! Since inception we have supported educational opportunities for amateur sailors by providing funds for instruction, training, safety, equipment, competition, and scholarships for broader community access to LYC programs.

To date we have

• Awarded scholarships to area youth
• Purchased 4 new Butterflies for the LYC sailing program
• Been upgraded to a Silver Seal of Transparency by GuideStar, "the world's largest source of information on nonprofit organizations"
• Hosted CPR/First Aid Certification and Water Safety program for area students
• Hosted US Sailing Instructor Certification program

One current priority we have identified is the future replacement of the LYC aging docks. Safety will always be a major focus as we help grow the LYC sailing program.
